Within the rolling hills of Ibiza and nestled amongst raw nature and lush greenery is Jurjen van Hulzen’s Campo Loft. This modern interpretation of a traditional Ibicencan abode breathes contemporary design and traditional structure; with sabina wood lining its ceilings down to corrugated steel giving the kitchen area a sharp edge, this stunning finca has married visuals from the mainland and the raw bones of the island.
Once a dishevelled, abandoned space, the newly renovated Campo Loft has been renovated by interior architect Jurjen to an impeccable finish. Local materials were utilised thereby adhering to the home’s sustainable roots; solar panels providing hot water, floor heating and electricity, this is the blueprint for eco-friendly designed homes. Based on the south-side of the island, the space is continuously drenched in sunlight and sports a sizeable open space perfect for socialising. Considerably, bedrooms have been placed north-facing benefitting from shade during the peak summer months.
As owner of The Nieuw and Ibiza Interiors, Jurjen knows how to style a space in order to manifest its optimum potential. He has effortlessly pulled this off with the Ibiza Campo Loft. The design guest house and showcase space has drawn international attention, and rightly so. Meticulous detailing has gone into the erection of this home, down to the herringbone patterned tiles and the rough steel kitchen island, the design roots of this space cannot be denied.
